Featured Prints

I want to clarify one thing about my work. Even though some of my pieces use the word ‘puzzle’ in the title, these are not puzzles in the traditional sense. I use graphically designed puzzle pieces to display memorable, commemorative photos. These pieces are prints, ready to frame and hang. In the case of my canvas Giclee prints, they do not have to be framed. They come ready to hang.

The Ocracoke Puzzle. 18″ x 24″ This is one of my most favorite places. This lovely barrier island is off the coast of North Carolina. It can be a two hour ferry ride, depending on which ferry you take. I took the photos for this print during one of my visits. This piece has graphically embossed letters throughout that imparts a message to the viewer. The lettering is purposefully had to read. One has to concentrate.

The original Ocarcoke Puzzle was displayed in one of the Inns. The piece was on loan. When the Inn closed, a gentleman took the piece and refuses to return it. What a nice guy! He once offered to sell it to me. Can you imagine?

The Charleston Puzzle – 18″ x 24″

I grew up in Charleston. What a beautiful city. I just had to do a commemorative. I lived in Charleston for forty years before moving to Raleigh, NC to work with a world renowned tiger expert. You can review my tiger foundation at www.zoetigers.org. The Charleston Puzzle is available in an unsigned and signed lithograph printed on a neutral ph, archival paper or a canvas Giclee. My trademark Gothic lettering appears around the puzzle pieces rather than within the puzzle pieces as they do in the Ocracoke Puzzle.

Since I grew up in Charleston, where the Civil War started, I decided to do a retrospective using photos from the Library of Congress. The photos have no known restrictions on publication. The piece comes with a detailed credit sheet.
